How do I practice emotional control with all that is going on in the world today? Use positive affirmations and thought switching. For example, when you feel overwhelmed think about one positive thing you can accomplish for that day.
Monthly Topic - Managing Anxiety
The first step to managing anxiety is to know your anxiety triggers. What happens in your mind and body before the anxiety moment occurs. List them and apply a coping skill for each. For example - if you are making a presentation at work and feeling extremely anxious - practice with someone you trust that will give you honest feedback. In our next update we will include more coping skills for anxiety in the moment and longer term.
